Tipp star Brendan Maher trying his hand at cricket in the Australian Big Bash League
All-Star hurler Brendan Maher is preparing to try his hand at a very different kind of swing over in Australia.
The Tipperary captain is currently training with Big Bash League cricket side the Adelaide Strikers, in a temporary swap for AIB’s The Toughest Trade.

The swap sees Maher train with the pro-cricketers in a bid to learn how to face the BBL’s ferocious fast bowlers, some of whom can throw at more than 140km/h.
After this afternoon’s game between the Strikers and the Hurricanes Maher will go up against them with a cricket bat, in front of a packed stadium.
