Eamonn Ryan leaves Cork ladies footballers to join men’s backroom team

The most successful manager in the history of Cork Ladies Football Eamonn Ryan has left his position today.

The news comes as Cork GAA have confirmed in a statement that Ryan is to join the Cork men’s football side as a selector.

Ryan took over the Cork ladies footballers in early 2004 and led them to an unprecedented 10 All-Ireland victories in 11 seasons.

His departure will be a blow to ladies football in the county with Shane Ronayne among the favourites to replace the Watergrasshill man.

He joins an impressive team built up by new Cork football boss Peadar Healy.

Paudie Kissane (Clyda Rovers) will serve as strength and conditioning coach, Skibbereen’s Conor McCarthy will be performance coach, and Morgan O’Sullivan (Castletownbere) and Eoin O’Neill (Aghada) will be his fellow selectors.
