Kerry legend Maurice Fitzgerald has had some week.

Only last Saturday, Fitzgerald managed St Mary’s to win the Munster Club Intermediate Championship.

And then tonight, with some of his players recovering from a hectic schedule that included ten successive weekends of Championship football, the 46-year-old Fitzgerald swapped the bainisteoir’s bib for the jersey.

Coming on as a second-half substitute, Fitzgerald got in the thick of the action against Gneeveguilla in the Kerry Senior Football League Division 2 game.

He was even able to do some on-field management!

St Mary’s won yet again, by 1-14 to 1-7.

Well done, Maurice!
