Kerry star Paul Geaney expresses frustration with county board decision

Kerry and Dingle footballer has expressed his disappointment at Kerry GAA’s decision to send Killarney Legion forward to represent the county in the Munster SFC semi-final.

The match is scheduled for next Saturday against Cork’s Nemo Rangers and, if Kerry’s championship hadn’t finished, Dingle GAA would have been in line to play as Kerry club championship winners.

Despite the stalemate, the fact that the match took place means the championship is regarded as 'finished'.

As South Kerry are a divisional outfit, they are not permitted to enter the provincial stages so Legion go forward as Kerry's representatives.

If South Kerry had won the game, Dingle would have been sent forward instead.

Geaney expressed his frustration on Twitter today saying he was “disappointed with Kerry GAA”.

He asked: “Is there any point playing the club championship next year, seems a waste of time?”

He did also wish Legion best of luck with the fixture, adding that it was, “not fair on them either”.
