Ruthless Fitzmaurice makes four changes; Galvin back on bench
Éamonn Fitzmaurice has ruthlessly culled four players from the side that started against Cork in the Munster SFC final drawn tie.
Out go Fionn Fitzgerald, who levelled the game for Kerry in additional-time, Peter Crowley, Stephen O'Brien and Barry John Keane, scorer of 0-3 in the 2-15 to 3-12 stalemate.
In their place, Aidan O'Mahony steps into the full-back slot.
Paul Murphy, man of the match in the All-Ireland final last year, is stationed at wing-back.
Anthony Maher joins David Moran in midfield with Bryan Sheehan slotting into the wing-forward role.
And Paul Geaney replaces Keane at corner-forward.
Additionally, Kerry have named Paul Galvin alongside the likes of Colm Cooper in reserve.
Kerry's bench contains four players who started against Donegal last September – Brian Kelly, Fitzgerald, Crowley and O’Brien.
Also, Michael Geaney and Keane, were introduced as substitutes during that All-Ireland final.
There certainly seems to be greater balance to Kerry's brigade for the replay.
Fitzmaurice is obviously conscious of the need for more solidity in defence.
Galvin and Cooper, of course, also represent vast experience for the Kingdom if required.
