Lyons stars for Limerick against Sligo

Limerick 0-14 Sligo 1-9
Limerick got their opening round Allianz NFL Division 3 tie off to a winning start with a hard-fought two-point victory over Sligo at Kilmallock this afternoon.
Six points from corner forward Mikey Lyons set them on their way as they led at the break, 0-6 to 0-4.
The sending off of Sligo wing-back Brian Curran 20 minutes into the second half did not help the visitors cause.
It came at a juncture when they had taken the lead 1-8 to 0-8 thanks to an Adrian Marren goal. However, from there to the end, they just added one more point, and that was from a free.
