The nominations have been announced for the GAA GPA Football All-Stars - champions Kerry have 11 nominations and beaten finalists Donegal have nine.

The nominations have been announced for the GAA GPA Football All-Stars - champions Kerry have 11 nominations and beaten finalists Donegal have nine.

Dublin also received nine nominations, followed by Mayo with six and Monaghan with four.

There are 10 counties represented in total - Armagh received two nominations and one each for Cork, Derry, Galway and Tipperary make up the list.

The shortlist for Player of the Year has also been announced. Vying for the award are James O’Donoghue of Kerry, Neil McGee of Donegal and Dublin’s Diarmuid Connolly.

Donegal has two players shortlisted for Young Player of the Year, Ryan McHugh and Paddy McBrearty. The third nominee on the list is Galway’s Shane Walsh.

The All-Star and Player of the Year awards, sponsored by Opel, will be presented at the annual banquet in Dublin on Friday October 24.
