Dublin hurlers sweat on fitness of Paul Schutte

Dublin corner-back Paul Schutte has emerged as a major doubt for the county’s All-Ireland quarter-final on Sunday.

Schutte has suffered a back injury in the lead up to the contest and is in a race against time to fit for the meeting with Tipperary in Thurles.

Anthony Daly’s men will line out at Semple Stadium for a game that throws-in at 4pm and will set up a repeat of last year’s All-Ireland semi-final meeting with Cork should they advance.

Daly has been boosted by the news that forward Mark Schutte, brother of Paul, has returned to the squad after recovery from a dislocated shoulder he picked up in the Leinster semi-final clash with Wexford.

Fellow forward Niall McMorrow remains sidelined with a knee injury however, while goalkeeper Gary Maguire may lack the required match fitness to start on Sunday.
