Glanmire GAA’s absolutely heartbreaking competition entry

Even the must stonehearted of people will find it hard not to support Glanmire GAA’s efforts to win the Etihad Airways ‘Raise the Bar’ competition after seeing the video below.

For all GAA lovers their local pitch is special, so imagine the pain felt by those in the parish when they woke up on the morning of June 28, 2012 to find their grounds totally underwater.

After extensive fund raising efforts they managed to re-lay their field late last year and now are hoping that winning this competition will help them repay more of the repair costs that totalled over €220,000.

If they were to win, some of the prizes include an immediate €10,000 in sponsorship, new ground signage, training equipment and regular prizes to use for fundraising.

It's hard to think of a club that deserves it more, you have our vote lads!
