Cavan make one change for Kerry tie

Jason McLoughlin is back in the Cavan team for Sunday's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final clash with Munster champions Kerry at Croke Park (throw-in 2pm).

McLoughlin was injured for Cavan's recent qualifier wins over Derry and London, but returns for their second successive trip to GAA headquarters.

The Shannon Gaels clubman will start at right half-back with James McEnroe the player to make way. Thomas Corr is listed at right corner back, while Alan Clarke will captain the side from centre back.

Niall McDermott, the late goal scorer for the Breffni men against London, has to be content with a place on the bench again, and the likes of Darragh McVitty, Killian Brady and Mark McKeever will also hope to make an impact as substitutes.

This is Cavan's first Championship meeting with Kerry since the Kingdom were 1-17 to 1-10 winners of an All-Ireland semi-final back in 1997.

Cavan, who are appearing at the quarter-final stage for the first time, last beat Kerry in the Championship in the famous 1947 All-Ireland final at the Polo Grounds in New York.

CAVAN (SFC v Kerry): Alan O'Mara; Thomas Corr, Rory Dunne, Killian Clarke; Jason McLoughlin, Alan Clarke (capt), Ronan Flanagan; Damien O'Reilly, David Givney; Cian Mackey, Jack Brady, Feargal Flanagan; Martin Reilly, Martin Dunne, Eugene Keating.
