Gough to take charge of Leinster final
Meath's David Gough has been selected to referee the AIB Leinster Club SFC final between Portlaoise and Ballymun Kickhams in Mullingar on Sunday week.
The Slane native takes charge of his first provincial decider. He is one of a growing breed of young referees who have come onto the inter-county panel in recent years.
It is a remarkable achievement for the 29-year-old, who only refereed his first provincial club SFC tie this year when he took charge of Portlaoise's first round win over St. Pat's of Wicklow in Aughrim.
Last year Gough was the man in the middle for the Leinster Club Intermediate Football Championship final between Kildare side Confey and Éire Óg of Wicklow.
He has also refereed the Meath Intermediate and Senior Championship finals in successive years.
