O'Shea named as new Tipp boss
Tipperary County Board have announced that they have tonight ratified the appointment of Eamon O’Shea from the Kilruane MacDonaghs club as the Premier County's new senior hurling manager.
The other members of Eamon’s management team will be selected in due course and recommended to the County Board for ratification.
A statement from the board said: "Tipperary County Board is delighted that a man of Eamon’s ability and experience has agreed to take on the important and voluntary role of managing the Tipperary senior hurling team. The Board wishes him every success and assures him of their full support and encouragement as he seeks to build on the team’s many successes in the last five years."
O’Shea has previously coached the Tipperary hurling team from 2008 to 2010 during which time they won the All-Ireland senior hurling championship in 2010, the Munster senior hurling championship in 2008 and 2009 and the Allianz Hurling League title in 2008.
He played senior hurling championship for Tipperary between 1979 and 1986 and also played senior inter-county championship hurling with Dublin.
