Hurling fans heading to Croke Park later are being advised to use public transport where possible.

Kilkenny take on Galway at 3.30pm this afternoon in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling final.

Before that, at 1.30pm, Dublin battle Tipperary in the Minor final.

Traffic restrictions will be in place around the stadium and Ciara Courtney of AA Roadwatch said that there are also likely to be some delays on a number of routes entering the city.

"Some of the main routes that are expected to be busy today are M4 as people head over from Galway and also, for Kilkenny fans, many will travel the M7," she said.

"Also, traffic is expected to be heavier than usual, so remember to give yourself plenty of time, and again, to use public transport as much as possible."
