Tyrrellspass clubman Darren Quinn will replace Gary Connaughton in goal for Westmeath's All-Ireland SFC first round qualifier against Louth on Saturday.
Quinn's first Championship start represents the only change to the Westmeath team that lost to the same opposition in the Leinster Championship six weeks ago.
Westmeath skipper Connaughton is unavailable after choosing to spend the rest of the summer in Boston - although his stint Stateside has been a shortlived one as he fractured his ankle in his first game for local club Wolfe Tones.
Centre-back Michael Ennis will take the captaincy reins for the Mullingar encounter (throw-in 7pm), with youngster John Heslin continuing at midfield.
Heslin has recovered in time from the keyhole surgery he underwent last week on a knee cartilage problem. With first choice full-back Kieran Gavin still recovering from a long-term quad muscle inury, John Gaffey has held onto the number 3 jersey.
Louth have proved to be a bogey team for the Lakesiders in recent years. Westmeath were beaten by them in a Leinster semi-final in 2010 and lost twice during last year's Allianz Football League, including a Division 3 decider.
This season, Louth won a league tie between the sides and Pat Flanagan's men were also edged out in that tightly-contested Leinster opener in May - Louth needed an injury-time goal from substitute Danny O'Connor to seal a 2-9 to 0-14 win in Navan.
WESTMEATH (SFC v Louth): Darren Quinn; Michael Curley, John Gaffey, Kevin Maguire; Doran Harte, Michael Ennis (capt), Daniel McDermott; John Heslin, Paul Bannon; Kieran Martin, Ger Egan, James Dolan; Denis Glennon, David Glennon, Paul Sharry.
