McCarthy doubtful for Tipp tie

Niall McCarthy is rated a very doubtful starter for Cork’s Munster SHC opener with Tipperary at Páirc Uí Chaoimh next Sunday week.

The vastly experienced Carrigtwohill man sustained a serious hand injury during his club’s victory over Courcey Rovers in the Cork County SHC and, according to selector Kieran Kingston, his chances of participation in the eagerly awaited showdown with Tipp are rated at just 50-50.
