Coffey appointed as Offaly's interim manager

Offaly GAA have appointed Tom Coffey as the interim manager of their senior football panel for the 2012 Championship.

Coffey was installed as the successor to Gerry Cooney at a meeting of the Offaly County Board Management Committee this afternoon.

A statement from Offaly GAA PRO Niall Murphy confirmed: "Tom will take up the position with immediate effect and there are no further details available with respect to his backroom team, but this will be announced in due course."

This is Coffey's second term as the Faithfuls' caretaker boss as he also fillied the position during the National League campaign of 2009.
