Tyrell among three to return for Cats

Jackie Tyrrell has recovered from injury to earn a place in Brian Cody's Kilkenny team to face Clare in the Allianz Hurling League semi-final in Semple Stadium, Thurles, tomorrow.

Jackie Tyrrell has recovered from injury to earn a place in Brian Cody's Kilkenny team to face Clare in the Allianz Hurling League semi-final in Semple Stadium, Thurles, tomorrow.

The team shows a number of changes in personnel and positions from that which defeated Galway in Kilkenny's last League game.

Tyrrell comes into the team at left corner back, while the Cats' attack is enhanced with the return of Richie Power, who was suspended for the Galway game, and John Mulhall.

Missing through injury are Noel Hickey, Michael Rice, Paddy Hogan and Aidan Fogarty while Richie Hogan and Henry Shefflin continue their recoveries.

Two additions to the substitutes are All-Ireland minor winning captain of 2008 Tomás Breen of St. Martin's and Pádraig Walsh of Tullaroan, brother of Tommy.
