Cork captain poised to return for Dubs clash

Cork captain Graham Canty is poised for a quick return to the side for the make-or-break league tie against Dublin at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Sunday, 2.30pm.

The Bantry Blues player missed the recent win over Mayo due to a hamstring injury, but the centre-back played the full hour for Carbery in their one-point defeat by Avondhu in the Cork senior football championship in Cloughduv last night.

Canty was one of a number of Cork players involved.

He was joined by Alan O’Connor and Denis O’Sullivan in the Carbery side while Ray Carey, Paudie Kissane and Colm O’Neill featured for Avondhu, who won by 0-12 to 0-11.
