All-Ireland SHC final referee Brian Gavin believes that a motion calling for frees which are kicked backwards to be outlawed does not need to be passed when it comes before tonight's Westmeath GAA Convention in Rosemount.

The motion from the St. Joseph's club proposes that the ball should be thrown in as a penalty for teams who play the ball backwards during games.
