Brogan, Cluxton nominated for GAA-GPA player of the year awards
Dublin duo Alan Brogan and Stephen Cluxton are in contention for the GAA-GPA footballer of the year award, while Kilkenny pair Michael Fennelly and Tommy Walsh and Tipperary's Pádraic Maher are vying for the hurling accolade.
The nominees for the young footballer of the year award come from three different provinces, with Mayo's Cillian O'Connor; James McCarthy of Dublin and Donegal's Mark McHugh all in contention.
Three counties also supply the young hurler of the year nominees - the winner will be picked from Dublin's Liam Rushe, Declan Hannon of Limerick and Waterford's Pauric Mahony.
Elsewhere, the player of the year nominees for the Christy Ring, Nicky Rackard and Lory Meagher Cup competitions have been revealed.
Ring Cup champions Kerry have Shane Nolan nominated, while Wicklow's Eamon Kearns is also in contention for the Christy Ring player of the year award.
London's Martin Finn, a native of Cork, and Louth's David Dunne are hoping to pick up the Nicky Rackard Cup player of the year gong.
Donegal's Niall Campbell and Damian Maguire of Tyrone are the Lory Meagher Cup player of the year nominees.
The banquet event will take place at the Convention Centre Dublin on Friday week (October 21) and will be broadcast live on RTÉ One.
The All-Star football and hurling teams will be presented with their awards, which are sponsored by Opel, on the evening. The winners of the player of the year and young player of the year awards in both football and hurling in addition to the Christy Ring, Nicky Rackard and Lory Meagher players of the year will also be announced on the night.
