Donegal have moved on from Quarter-final win - Cassidy

Donegal's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final match winner Kevin Cassidy says his side have moved on from the jubilation of that last eight victory over Kildare.

Cassidy's extra-time winner secured an All-Ireland semi-final berth for Donegal for the first time since 2003.

"It was great to secure the win the last time against Kildare, but you have to move onto the next game," Cassidy said.

"You soon forget about those things and you really focus on the next game at hand.

"We were back into training the following Tuesday and we will put all our efforts in to being ready for the next one."

Donegal's quarter-final win over Kildare came after extra-time, in contrast to Dublin's seven-point victory over Tyrone, which saw the Metropolitans claim 19 of their 22 points from play.

Cassidy believes that while the tough challenge from Kildare will stand his side well this weekend, but that Dublin's result has to be taken in the context of Tyrone's side.

"Some people would say that (Kildare game stood to us), but you have to look at the team Dublin were playing against," he said.

"Tyrone are one of the best teams of the last 10 years and they weren't a bad side.

"You would have to look at how easily Dublin dismantled them and you would have to give them credit for that.

"The last game is gone as far as we are concerned. It is all about Dublin and Donegal in the semi-final and nothing else matters."
