Hurling qualifiers draw teed up for tomorrow
The draw for the All-Ireland SHC third phase qualifiers is set to take place tomorrow evening, following the Leinster final at Croke Park.
GAA president-elect Liam O'Neill will be involved in the televised draw proceedings, which will see phase I winners, Antrim and Cork, placed in bowl A, and the second bowl will contain the winners of today's phase II clashes (Limerick v Wexford and Galway v Clare).
Teams that have played each other earlier in provincial competitions cannot meet again this round. So. if Wexford beat Limerick this evening at the Gaelic Grounds, there will be no draw tomorrow.
This is because Wexford have already played Antrim in the Leinster Championship. If they beat Limerick, they must play Cork. In this scenario, Antrim would automatically meet the winners of the Galway v Clare match.
The third phase games will be played next Saturday (July 9), with the venues and throw-in times to be confirmed on Monday by the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee.
