Tipp welcome back O'Mahony for Clare clash

Tipperary manager Declan Ryan has made one change to his team for Sunday's Munster SHC semi-final against Clare at the Gaelic Grounds (throw-in 4pm).

A fully-fit Conor O'Mahony resumes at centre-back after an impressive late cameo in the quarter-final victory over Cork last month.

He replaces the injured Paddy Stapleton, whose absence sees John O'Keeffe revert to corner back. Padraic Maher also shifts to wing back in a reshuffled defensive unit.

All-Star and 2010 Young Hurler of the Year Brendan Maher is missing once again as he continues his recovery from a broken ankle. Maher was on duty as a water carrier for the Cork game.

Tipp, the reigning All-Ireland champions, have won their last three Championship clashes with Clare since a 2-17 to 0-14 Munster quarter-final defeat back in 2003. Sunday's winners will meet Waterford in the provincial decider on Sunday, July 10.

TIPPERARY (SHC v Clare): Brendan Cummins; John O'Keeffe, Paul Curran, Michael Cahill; David Young, Conor O'Mahony, Padraic Maher; Gearóid Ryan, Shane McGrath; Seamus Callanan, Noel McGrath, Patrick Maher; Eoin Kelly (capt), John O'Brien, Lar Corbett.
