Walsh to miss out on Cork's football final
Young Cork midfielder Aidan Walsh will play no part in next Sunday's Allianz Football League Division 1 final against Dublin.
Walsh sustained a hamstring injury during the Cork Under-21s' surprise All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Galway on Saturday, limping off in the 47th minute.
The 21-year-old All-Star and reigning Young Footballer of the Year will have the injury assessed today, but is most certainly sidelined for the league decider.
Walsh partnered Alan O'Connor at midfield and scored two points in Cork's final round win over Armagh in Division 1 recently. James Fitzpatrick and Nicholas Murphy were both paired with O'Connor in previous games.
Cork warmed up for the trip to Croke Park with a challenge match against Sligo over the weekend, during which veteran defender Anthony Lynch made a welcome return.
