Ger O'Halloran and Iarla Tannian have been brought into the Galway team for Sunday's Allianz Hurling League Division 1 match against Tipperary at Pearse Stadium (throw-in: 2.30pm).
O'Halloran will start at left corner back, taking over from David Collins who damaged his shin in last weekend's 2-11 to 0-14 victory over Dublin at Parnell Park.
Tannian, who missed that game whilst attending a family wedding in America, returns at full-forward. Joe Gantley is the player to miss out, and Joseph Cooney reverts to the right half-forward berth.
Joe Canning took a step closer to making his return for the Tribesmen last Sunday when he warmed up with the starting players and performed the water carrier duties.
This weekend's game in Salthill sees last year's Hurling League and All-Ireland champions go head-to-head. A win for Galway, the current table toppers, would seal their place in the Division 1 final - their third in four seasons.
Hoping for a big turnout of home support, manager John McIntyre said: "This is the last chance Galway supporters will get to see their side on home turf this year.
"The All-Ireland champions are riding into town so there's no reason that we couldn't get up to 15,000 if people decide to come out and give the team the support it deserves."
