At Enniscrone, Sligo only managed one second half point from Keith Raymond but it was enough to take a 1-12 to 2-08 win over Monaghan.

The hosts powered into a 1-11 to 0-01 interval advantage, with Raymond (0-07) and Declan Loughnane (1-02) leading the charge. Ronan Meegan hit two second half goals for Monaghan.

Meanwhile, Mayo conjured up a 3-12 to 2-14 triumph over Louth at Dowdallshill. Derek McConn, Niall Murphy and Darren McTighe netted Mayo's goals.

In Letterkenny, Fingal beat a determined Donegal side by 1-13 to 1-07. The Tir Chonaill men led by 1-04 to 0-05 at half-time, but the Dublin outfit were strongest on the restart.
