The hurlers of Fermanagh and Tyrone mustered wins today, while Leitrim prevented a hat-trick of Ulster victories in Division 4 of the Allianz National Hurling League.

At Lisbellaw, hosts Fermanagh had a double scores win by 2-14 to 1-07 over visitors Longford. Despite the one-sided look to the final scoreline, this game was closely-fought in the opening half.

Aided by a strong wind, Fermanagh held a 1-08 to 1-05 half-time lead. Shane Mulholland (1-01) netted the opening goal for Rory O’Donnell's charges early on.

The Ernesiders continued to impress on the restart and upped their game in the second half. Ryan Bogue claimed five points, while John Duffy bagged Fermanagh's second half goal.

Midfielder Eoin Donnellan and full-forward Joe O'Brien tried hardest for the visitors. The victory means that unbeaten Fermanagh maintain top spot in the division ahead of Tyrone on scoring difference.

At Ballela this afternnon, Tyrone overcame South Down by 3-15 to 3-11 in a tight encounter.

Leitrim had no such problems at Ballinamore where they claimed a comfortable 3-19 to 1-08 triumph over Cavan.

This defeat means that the Breffni County side are rooted to the bottom of the table. Along with Longford, they have yet to register a win.
