Fermanagh 0-05 Longford 1-08
Wing forward Niall Mulligan scored the only goal of the game as Longford took the NFL Division 4 spoils away from Brewster Park tonight.
Mulligan punched the ball into the Fermanagh net in the 59th minute, giving the visitors a match-winning cushion, and three late points put the result beyond any doubt.
After an error-strewn first half, Fermanagh were 0-04 to 0-03 ahead. Sean McCormack landed Longford's opening point before Tomas Corrigan responded for the hosts.
Three pointed frees from Terry O'Flanagan sent John O'Neill's men ahead on the scoreboard. Goalkeeper James McGrath was also on his toes to thwart Longford's Paul Barden with an excellent save.
But Longford bossed the second period and a late free from O'Flanagan was the Ernesiders' only score of the entire half.
A brace of points from Paddy Dowd put Longford 0-05 to 0-04 in front and Mulligan's goal came at a crucial stage for Glenn Ryan's side.
