Ulster SFC draw revealed

The winner of the preliminary round encounter between Donegal and Antrim will face Cavan in the quarter-finals of the 2011 Ulster Senior Football Championship, it has been announced.

The preliminary round match will mark Jim McGuinness' first Championship outing as Donegal manager. 'Big Jim' was one of a number of new managers up north eagerly awaiting tonight's draw.

Cavan's new joint bosses Val Andrews and Terry Hyland will have to wait to find out their quarter-final opponents.

Top of the pile in the last-eight is the local derby meeting of Armagh and beaten All-Ireland finalists, Down. The sides met in this year's NFL Division 2 final, with Paddy O'Rourke's Armagh prevailing on a 0-17 to 1-12 scoreline.

There will be a repeat of the 2010 Ulster decider as reigning champions Tyrone play a Monaghan side which now has Eamonn McEneaney on board as manager.

In the other quarter-final game, new managers John Brennan (Derry) and John O'Neill (Fermanagh) will look to kickstart their reigns with a morale-boosting Championship win.

Tonight's televised draw, which took place at Croke Park, was performed by Aogan Farrell, President of the Ulster Council, and Ulster Secretary Danny Murphy.
