Rogers confirmed as injury doubt for Down

Ambrose Rogers is a doubt for Down's All-Ireland SFC semi-final date with Kildare later this month after picking up a knee injury during a club match.

The Mourne County midfielder and captain sustained the knock whilst in action for Longstone in their Down SFC victory over Liatroim Fontenoys last Sunday.

The Down GAA County Board have yet to confirm the full extent of Rogers' injury, with the Mourne men bidding to reach their first All-Ireland SFC final since 1994.

A statement read: "Ambrose is to go for a scan on the knee in the coming days, the result of which should be known by the end of this week or early next week."
