Match officials confirmed for upcoming Championship matches

The GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) has confirmed the match officials for this weekend's All-Ireland SFC quarter-finals and the first All-Ireland SHC semi-final, involving Cork and defending champions Kilkenny.

Cavan's Joe McQuillan will be the man in the middle for the first of this year's football quarter-finals at Croke Park next Saturday, as Down look to end Kerry's reign as All-Ireland champions. Pat McEnaney of Monaghan is the standby referee.

David Coldrick of Meath will take charge of the Dublin v Tyrone tie, the second game of Saturday's double header, with Wexford's Syl Doyle named as the standby official.

On Sunday afternoon, another Meath man, Cormac Reilly, will officiate Cork's meeting with Roscommon at Croke Park. Laois's Maurice Deegan has been installed as the standby referee for that match.

Meanwhile, last year's All-Ireland final referee, Marty Duffy of Sligo, will whistle the Leinster derby between Kildare and provincial champions Meath. O Conamha of Galway is the standby official.

In hurling, Offaly's Brian Gavin has been named as the referee for the first of this year's semi-finals.

The Clara native will take charge of Cork against Kilkenny, which will have a 3.30pm start at Croke Park on Sunday, August 8.
