John Miskella will make his first Championship start for Cork in 2010, when the Rebels meet Tommy Carr's Cavan side at Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Saturday (throw-in 3pm).

Miskella is one of three changes in personnel to the team that lost to Kerry in last month's Munster SFC semi-final replay.

He replaces Noel O'Leary at right half-back, with Fintan Goold and Colm O'Neill named in attack.

Goold starts in place of Pearse O'Neill at right half-forward, with the Aghada clubman moving to the centre.

Donncha O'Connor is the player to lose out, with Paddy Kelly completing the half-forward line.

Cork manager Conor Counihan has opted for one change from the full-forward formation that started against Kerry, with young full-forward Ciaran Sheehan flanked by Daniel Goulding and Colm O'Neill, who replaces Paul Kerrigan.

CORK (SFC v Cavan): A Quirke; R Carey, G Canty, J O'Sullivan; J Miskella, M Shields, P Kissane; A O'Connor, A Walsh; F Goold, P O'Neill, P Kelly; D Goulding, C Sheehan, C O'Neill
