McGeeney names three debutants for Kildare

Kildare manager Kieran McGeeney has handed Championship debuts to three players for tomorrow's Leinster SFC quarter-final against Louth at Pairc Tailteann (throw-in 7pm).

Allenwood's Shane McCormack will make his bow between the posts, and fellow newcomer Keith Cribbin starts at left half-back alongside his Johnstownbridge club-mate Brian Flanagan; with Carbury's Morgan O'Flaherty named on the left wing.

Meanwhile, Moorefield clubman David Whyte has been handed his first Championship start alongside club colleague Daryl Flynn. Dermot Earley, who has been nursing a knee injury, is listed in the substitutes.

Anthony Rainbow, the longest-serving player of any county currently playing inter-county football, is also set for bench duty as he begins his 19th Championship campaign.

This will be the counties' first Leinster SFC meeting since 2002 where the Lilywhites squeezed home on a 0-12 to 0-11 scoreline.

McGeeney's men were beaten in last year's Leinster final by Dublin and are chasing their county's first provincial crown since 2000.

Westmeath or Wicklow will provide the opposition for Sunday's winners in the semi-final on June 26.
