Murphy likely to miss game in Killarney
Nicholas Murphy looks set to miss Cork’s Munster SFC semi-final against Kerry in Killarney on June 6 after suffering a stress fracture in his back.
The injury has been hampering Murphy’s involvement with Cork this season and he now faces a spell of six to eight weeks on the sidelines.
Murphy did not feature for his club Carrigaline in their Cork PIFC first round defeat against Nemo Rangers yesterday afternoon and has struggled for fitness throughout Cork’s NFL campaign.
In better news for Cork boss Conor Counihan ahead of the Fitzgerald Stadium showdown, wing-back John Miskella, who has not featured at all for Cork this year due to a troublesome groin injury, made an appearance as a second-half sub for Ballincollig during their Cork SFC first round loss to Douglas yesterday.
