Mick O'Dwyer has handed Dara O hAnnaidh his first start of 2010, after naming his Wicklow side to face Carlow in this Sunday's Leinster SFC opener at O'Moore Park in Portlaoise (throw-in 3.30pm).

The Bray Emmets clubman, who lives and works overseas, has not made an appearance for the Garden County all year and was not expected to do so at this stage.

However, O'Dwyer has issued a late call-up to the defender who moved to Texas after three successive wins in last year's Championship and is now based in Sweden.

O hAnnaidh is set to fly into Dublin Airport this afternoon, just 48 hours ahead of the Leinster derby against rivals Carlow.

Elsewhere, in the Wicklow defence, Stephen Kelly replaces Ciaran Hyland and Darren Hayden comes into the half-back line in place of Stephen Canavan.

Jacko Dalton will partner James Stafford at midfield, while Rathnew's Nicky Mernagh starts in the half-forward line, having impressed recently in club action.

Tony Hannon and All-Star nominee Leighton Glynn complete the half-forward line, with Dean Odlum, Seanie Furlong and Paul Earls forming the full-forward line.

WICKLOW (SFC v Carlow): M Travers; S Kelly, D O hAnnaidh, A Byrne; P McWalter, B McGrath, D Hayden; J Stafford, JP Dalton; L Glynn, T Hannon, N Mernagh; D Odlum, S Furlong, P Earls.
