Moore ruled out for Galway
Galway Senior hurlers have been dealt a major blow, with the news that Fergal Moore has been sidelined for the Championship season.
It had been speculated that the defender was just due to miss the Tribesmen's Leinster opener against Wexford on Saturday fortnight, after he picked up an ankle injury against Dublin in the National league.
However Galway GAA officials revealed this morning that the Turloughmore clubman is ruled out for the Summer.
The news comes after scans revealed the extent of the damage and it is a devastating blow for the player himself and for John McIntyre’s plans for the championship.
Moore's Galway team-mate Ger Farragher, says that the Turloughmore clubman will be a big loss to the Tribesmen this Summer.
"He definitely will be a big loss," Farragher said at today's OPEL/GPA Awards.
"He will be a big loss to any team he is on. In saying that if anyone gets injured there's still lads there who are well able to come in.
"In the league Fergal wasn't playing, and Ollie Canning and Damien Joyce came in, in his position; and the two of them got on really well."
