Portumna ace Joe Canning and Iarla Tannian, Galway's two-goal hero against Kilkenny, have both been named in the Tribesmen's side to face Dublin at Pearse Stadium on Sunday (throw-in 2.30pm).

Canning was one of seven Portumna players who returned to training with Galway earlier this week, having been given a fortnight off following the club's All-Ireland final loss to Ballyhale Shamrocks.

He has been listed at right half-forward as manager John McIntyre makes changes to the side that secured a gutsy win over Kilkenny last weekend.

Colm Callanan will start in goal, taking over from James Skehill who suffered concussion in the 2-21 to 1-23 victory over the Cats.

Tadhg Og Regan returns at centre-back, while Iarla Tannian, who scored two crucial goals as a substitute against Kilkenny, slots back in at full-forward.

Speaking to the Connacht Tribune, Galway boss McIntyre said: "Although they have only one win to their name in this year's league, Dublin have been very competitive and they are still the only team to have beaten Tipperary so far.

"They are an improving outfit under Anthony Daly and we will have to focus very quickly on the challenge they will present to us on Sunday.

"Dublin are also in relegation trouble, so they will be very anxious to put their best foot forward against us."

GALWAY (NHL v Dublin): C Callinan; F Moore, S Kavanagh, D Joyce; D Barry, T Og Regan, D Collins; G Farragher, D Burke; J Canning, C Donnellan, E Ryan; A Harte, I Tannian, D Hayes.
