Waterford edge gripping encounter
Limerick 1-11 Waterford 1-12
A late point by Wayne Hennessy ended Limerick's unbeaten run in Allianz NFL Division 4 this evening and enabled visitors Waterford to keep on the winning trail.
In a highly entertaining game at the Gaelic Grounds, the sides were level at 0-5 each at the interval.
Waterford went ahead inside two minutes of the restart but the sides were level on several occasions thereafter.
It seemed that Limerick had the winning of the game but Waterford finished the stronger to severely dent Limerick's promotion prospects.
Waterford grabbed the game's first goal, 14 minutes into the second half, as Robert Ahern found the net to move his side 1-8 to 0-6 in front.
Limerick's goal came from a penalty by Seanie Buckley, five minutes later, which had the home side 1-9 to 1-8 in front.
