John Tennyson and Eoin Larkin will make their first appearances of the season when Kilkenny face Tipperary in the sides' refixed All-Ireland NHL Division 1 duel at Semple Stadium on Sunday (throw-in 2.30pm).
Tennyson will slot in beside PJ Delaney in the Cats' midfield, while Larkin, who has made a quicker-than-expected recovery from a hip injury, is listed at full-forward.
The third and final change will see John Mulhall, who impressed as a substitute in last weekend's opening win over Offaly, start at right half-forward.
Noel Hickey and Derek Lyng are back from injury and included among the substitutes, while Martin Comerford, who is away on his honeymoon, and Richie Power, who shipped a heavy knock in the Offaly game, will sit out Sunday's trip to Thurles.
Power was complaining of stiffness in his neck after a collision during the Nowlan Park tie. He was taken to St Luke's Hospital but subsequent X-rays thankfully showed no serious damage.
Entry is free into tomorrow's game against Tipp, which had to be postponed on two previous occasions due to wintry weather conditions.
Tipperary officials are expecting a crowd numbering between 15,000 and 20,000 to attend this repeat of last year's National League and All-Ireland finals.
Cats manager Brian Cody knows his side are in for quite an early season examination, especially as Tipp lost out to Dublin in their league opener.
"Sunday's game will be a serious, serious one. We tried to get it going over the last couple of weeks and we failed," he explained to the Kilkenny People.
"Both teams were ready to play. Now we will get it on. The league is on now. There is no such thing as working your way into it.
"The hurling season has started, and that's it. We are looking forward to the challenge against Tipperary because it is a real challenge playing them, or any of the teams in what is a top class league."
