Munster decision completes GAA wipeout
The first weekend of senior inter-county football in 2010 has been decimated by the severe cold snap, with the Munster Council joining their Connacht, Leinster and Ulster counterparts in calling off their scheduled games.
It is the third time in less than a week that the start of Munster's pre-season football competition, the McGrath Cup, has been postponed.
With the wintry conditions set to continue into next week, further fixture headaches are anticipated for GAA officials in all four provinces.
The three McGrath Cup preliminary round ties - Tipperary v UL, Kerry v IT Tralee and Limerick v WIT - had been re-fixed for Sunday afternoon after initial postponements last weekend and during midweek.
Weather permitting, the games will now take place under floodlights next Thursday night (January 14).
RESCHEDULED 2010 MCGRATH CUP PRELIMINARY ROUND MATCHES:
Thursday, January 14 -
Tipperary v UL, Dr Morris Park, Thurles, 7.30pm
Limerick v WIT, Gaelic Grounds, Limerick, 7.30pm
Kerry v IT Tralee, Austin Stack Park, Tralee, 7.30pm
