Stradbally win in Waterford as they have to do it all again in Meath
Meath SFC Final: Wolfe Tones 1-13 Seneschalstown 1-13 aet
Brian Sheridan landed the point which sent today’s Meath Senior Football Championship final to a replay, as Seneschalstown hit back to draw 1-13 to 1-13 with Wolfe Tones after extra-time.
In one of the most dramatic finishes to a county final in recent memory, Cian Ward thought he had won it for Tones but Seneschalstown won a hotly-disputed free in the last minute of extra-time which Sheridan right-footed over - setting up a replay for Thursday night at Pairc Tailteann.
Cian Ward scored Tones' goal while Gary Conlon found the net for Seneschalstown who also had four terrific points from Stephen Finnegan. The sides were level at 1-9 apiece at the end of normal time.
Waterford SFC Final: Stradbally 2-5 The Nire 0-9
Goals either side of half-time from centre back Eddie Rockett and full-forward Robbie Ahearne drove Stradbally to victory in this afternoon’s Waterford SFC final against The Nire.
It was Stradbally’s first county title since 2005 and their 15th in all. They did very well to win out and lift the Conway Cup, having come into the game without the injured Michael Walsh, Ger Power and Emmet Cummins.
