Kilmurry-Ibrickane top the class in Clare

CLARE SFC FINAL:

Kilmurry-Ibrickane 0-12 St. Senan's, Kilkee 2-3

Kilmurry-Ibrickane held opponents St. Senan's to just three second half points as they claimed back-to-back Clare Senior Football Championship titles at Cusack Park in Ennis this afternoon.

Both sides struggled to come to terms with the slippy pitch conditions in the opening half, but St. Senan's nosed into a 2-0 to 0-3 half-time lead, with Gearoid Lynch netting their second goal.

Shane Hickey was among those helping to keep Kilmurry-Ibrickane in touch and with St. Senan's kicking some bad wides, wind-assisted Kilmurry took control on the restart.

They seized the lead for only the second time with five minutes remaining, with Paul O'Connor and Peter O'Dwyer among the scorers, and they had enough quality to hold firm for a three-point win.
