Iarnród Éireann has tonight advised that demand for seats on trains during the entire weekend from Cork and Kerry to Dublin and back has been extremely heavy.

Iarnród Éireann has tonight advised that demand for seats on trains during the entire weekend from Cork and Kerry to Dublin and back has been extremely heavy.

The train compnay is urging all intending passengers to purchase their rail ticket on-line at www.irishrail.ie or through Iarnród Éireann’s Telesales number 1-850-366222.

Priority will be given to passengers who have pre-purchased their rail tickets online.

Many trains are heavily booked at this moment and certain trains are already sold out and all intending passengers are now being asked to pre-purchase their rail tickets on trains outside of the “sold out” train times.

Saturday, September 19, 2009:

07.15hrs Tralee-Dublin train (sold out)

09.30hrs Cork-Dublin train (sold out)

10.30hrs Cork-Dublin train (sold out)

11.30hrs Cork-Dublin train (sold out)

12.30hrs Cork-Dublin train (sold out)

13.30hrs Cork-Dublin train (sold out)

14.30hrs Cork-Dublin train (sold out)

15.30hrs Cork-Dublin train (sold out)

16.30hrs Cork-Dublin train (sold out)

The 12.50hrs extra train from Killarney to Dublin is still showing available for booking.

Trains are also very heavily booked on the return journey from Dublin Heuston Station on Sunday night from 6pm until 9pm inclusive and again all day Monday.

Iarnrod Éireann is also advising GAA fans to collect their rail tickets before travelling on Sunday, September 20 – so as to avoid unnecessary lengthy queues at booking offices.

Passengers are also advised that they will not be allowed bring alcohol onto trains.
