Hogan doubtful for Kilkenny U-21s

Kilkenny star hurler Richie Hogan is doubtful for this Sunday's Bord Gais Energy All-Ireland U-21 Hurling final against Clare at Croke Park.

Hogan picked up an ankle injury during the Cats Senior All-Ireland final win against Tipperary last Sunday.

However Kilkenny U-21 manager Michael Walsh says Richie will be given every chance to line out in this weekends decider.

"I wouldn't say he is definitely out, he picked up an injury to his ankle on Sunday," Walsh said at this morning's press conference at Croke Park to preview this weekends finals.

"We are hoping now with treatment and a few days rest that maybe he will have a great chance of playing. He is back in Dublin teaching this week so we'll assess him again towards the end of the week and see how things are.

"He definitely isn't ruled out (to start this Sunday) by any means.

"We are training on Friday night and we'll assess the thing then. Hopefully he'll be able to take his place."
