Armagh advance to minor final
Armagh 2-14 Monaghan 2-08
Armagh have progressed to an ESB Ulster Minor Football final clash with Down on July 19, following today's six-point win over Monaghan at Clones.
The hosts got off to a tremendous start with Monaghan midfielder Pete Dooley scoring the game's opening goal inside the opening 30 seconds.
However, Armagh responded well with a goal of their own from Gavin McParland in the seventh minute.
The Orchard County gained in confidence off the back of that score and led by 1-06 to 1-04 at the interval.
Monaghan hit back when Jack McCarron slotted a 45th minute penalty to the back of the Armagh net.
But Armagh upped the ante once more with top-scorer Eugene McVerry (1-07) netting with five minutes to go to ensure his side's path through to the decider.
