A powerful second-half surge in this Lory Meagher Cup goal-fest at Devine Park, Edgeworthstown earned hosts Longford a four-point win against Ulster side Donegal.

Donegal, who were favourites to win this encounter, were given a stern examination by Matty McLoughlin's Longford side.

Joe O'Brien scored a hat-trick of goals for the eventual winners, while Jonathan Minnock scored their other two goals.

Donegal placed the hosts under huge pressure in the closing stages, but Longford goalkeeper Paddy Cullen made two magnificent saves in the final minutes to ensure his side held out for victory.
