Finn shines for London

London 1-19 Armagh 0-12

Martin Finn was again to the fore as London gave a determined second-half display to finish as nine-point winners against hosts Armagh in this Nicky Rackard Cup tie at the Athletic Grounds.

As in last year's Ulster SHC meeting between these sides, London's greater experience and resolve came to bear when it mattered most as once again Armagh were left the vanquished.

The sides were level at 0-2 apiece in the opening stages, and the game remained close in nature until a 31st minute goal gave London a 1-8 to 0-8 advantage, and a lead they were not to relinquish.

The visitors added a brace of scores before the interval to hold a five-point half-time lead and failed to look back on the restart.

London ran rampant in the second half and held Paul Kelly's charges to just four points as the Exiles continued to widen the gap, finishing with nine points to spare in the end.
