Second half show sees Armagh through to semi finals

Armagh 3-24 Donegal 2-12

A superb second half display saw Armagh advance to meet Down in the semi-final stage of the GAA Ulster Senior Hurling Championship after a comfortable 15-point win over Donegal at O'Donnell Park, Letterkenny.

Armagh trailed by five points after both Ciaran Matheson and Lee Henderson fired home goals for the hosts to ensure a 2-6 to 0-7 lead.

But they bounced back strongly before the interval with a Cathal Carville goal ensuring parity at the break at 1-9 to 2-6.

In the second half a forceful Armagh made full use of a strong wind advantage as Donegal found it harder to get scores.

Donegal's woes were compounded by the dismissal of Joe Boyle through a second yellow card.

Armagh failed to take their foot off the accelerator and eased to a comfortable win with Paul Breen impressive.

Armagh's third goal from Carville cemented victory for the Orchard County after he rounded Kieran Kelly.
