Westmeath U-21s shine in Tullamore

Westmeath stunned Offaly in the Cadbury’s U-21 Leinster football championship at O’Connor Park, Tullamore this afternoon as the visitors claimed victory.

Joe Connellan was in outstanding form for Westmeath with eight points – five from play.

Westmeath led by 0-7 to 0-00 after 22 minutes but Offaly rallied.

Niall Geraghty and Willie Mulhall pulled the hosts back into contention but Westmeath finished the stronger.
