Duignan point seals narrow Leitrim win

A Michael Duignan pointed 45’ earned Mickey Moran’s Leitrim their first win of 2009 in the FBD League at Tourlestrane today.

Sligo made the better start with two Adrian Marren points the difference as the hosts held a 0-06 to 0-04 interval lead.

Benny O’Reilly and Colm Clarke traded goals on the restart as Leitrim came back into contention.

The sides were level at 1-07 apiece at the end of the third quarter, with Duignan’s late point decisive as Leitrim held out for a slender win.
